Jaime has traveled to Europe to meet with Indigenous Organizations and Advocates and to Brazil to meet with Asháninka, and the Asháninka filmmakers from Video Nas Aldeias. who have been using film and photography to "support their struggles in order to strengthen identities, and territorial and cultural heritage".   Jaime is closely involved in local indigenous organizations, and heads capacity building projects in the Rio Ene Valley, he also works with SANCORE (Association of Asháninka Coffee producers) supported externally by EcoTriball.

TSIMI The Ashaninka Bioclimatic Association

TSIMI - (Forest Santuary) The Asháninka Bioclimatic Association, an indigenous organization led by Javier Dril Bustamante, was established in March 2008 to protect the forests of three adjacent communities in the Rio Ene Valley: Cutivireni (which includes Pamaquiari); Parijaro (a waterfall community); and Camantavishi. Promoting avoided deforestation, Tsimi is implementing sustainable rainforest management and community development.
A team of Ashaninka, funded by Tsimi and Cool Earth, is presently using GPS coordinates to mark the trees along the Cutivireni border with paint. The boundary is otherwise invisible and unknown.

Ecotribal Ashaninka Phtography Project

Ecotribal's
aim is to encourage sustainable development among remote communities experiencing rapid social change and new environmental constraints ... to collaborate with indigenous peoples in a way that provides them with an income from sustainable products that support their culture and autonomy as well as territorial and environmental integrity.

Ecotribal was established in 2004 after a long period of gestation, including 28 years travelling and working in South America, accumulating experience in anthropology, sustainable development, teaching, tourism and journalism. This work has led to strong direct links to rainforest communities, particularly in the Peruvian Amazon.
